Advanced Wreck

This course provides the training and experience to competently conduct advanced wreck dives. This programme includes penetration skills and techniques. Depths shall not exceed the level in which the diver is trained and competent, but in no case shall the maximum depth in this program exceed 55 msw.

The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper techniques, equipment and hazards of wreck diving.

  • Advanced Wreck - Training Prerequisites
  • Be certified as an Advanced Open Water diver
  • Be a minimum age of eighteen (18)
  • Show proof of at least fifty (50) logged dives
  • Be certified as Basic Wreck or Cavern or equivalent

Advanced Wreck - Minimum Equipment Prerequisites

Must have twin primary tanks (volume appropriate for planned dives and either independent or manifold with appropriate SPG(s)).

  • Primary tanks fitted with two 1st and 2nd stages and contents gauge.
  • Appropriate BCD.
  • SMB and reel with 15m of 3mm line (tube style - colour orange)
  • Appropriate thermal protection.
  • Two depth gauge and bottom timers (or two computers or
  • Computer with 2nd depth gauge and bottom timer)
  • Compass, wrist slate and pocket slate
  • Primary mask and backup mask
  • Primary torch and backup torch
  • Line cutting device x 2
  • Primary penetration reel.
  • Back up reel.
  • Single sling tank fitted with 1st and 2nd stages and SPG suitable for use with mixtures of up to 100% oxygen and properly labled.
