Canberra & J4 Sub - Sunday 21st December 2025

Canberra & J4 Sub – Sunday 21st December 2025

Divers: Francisca, Maggie, Bill, Lyndal, Matt, Greg, Melanie & Mark

Ropes Off was 6.30am, that meant a 4.15am rise for me & even earlier for some of the others who live further away than I do. The dive conditions made it all worth it though, oily flat seas, 17 degrees temperature & 15m viz on the bottom. Of course the 5.30am start at Portsea also meant getting a great carpark :). Despite the very early start, the boat was full and it was clear that everyone really enjoyed the dives. The growth on the J4 Sub is noticeably greater than last time I dived it, otherwise it’s in incredibly good nic, especially considering the amount of time its been underwater. Of course our shipwrecks wont last forever, but l’m fairly confident that the graveyard wrecks will easily out last all of us. Hopefully today will be the start of the great weather that we normally enjoy this time of the year.
