Divers: Ian, Chris & Bill

After what felt like an endless battle with the elements, the stars finally aligned. Despite a string of storms that kept us topside for far too long, we finally headed out to the Canberra and J4 to get some serious work done.
The mission? Final certification dives for Ian and Chris’s Tek Wtreck, in readiness for Bikini..
The ocean didn’t make it easy for them. We were met with a moderate surge that added a layer of complexity to their final tasks. Laying line in a washing machine isn’t exactly a walk in the park, but Ian and Chris stepped up, stayed cool, and nailed their skills.

While the dives were great, they were definitely “work” dives. When you’re focused on technical line work and mastery of skills, there isn’t much room for sightseeing. There’s always a great energy when you’re geared up in Tec mode on a busy recreational boat. Between dives, we had plenty of curious divers asking about the extra tanks and the specialised procedures. It’s always a pleasure to chat with the community and showcase what technical diving is all about—it’s the best kind of “on-the-water” advertising!

A massive congratulations to Ian and Chris on their hard-earned certifications.
