With the swell too large out the back we had to do a drift dive instead of our wreck module, if you want to dive in Melbourne then at some point you will be doing a drift dive. The current can reach up to 7 knots through the Rip at times and diving at slack water is not always possible. I think it is our drift dives that makes Melbourne divers so hearty when diving up north or overseas. Although our dive was fun and easy I’m sure the guys would agree that they have certainly come away from the dive having gained a good bit of experience.
