Mother’s Beach Mornington — Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th September 2014

Divers:  Andrew, Youri, Ben, Daniel, Nick, Paul & Mark

Conditions were perfect for diving over the weekend, which isn’t necessarily what the instructor wants when running a Rescue Course, some half metre waves would have made the situation more interesting. We spent the 2 days at first practicing rescue techniques and then finished off with some full rescue scenarios.  By lunch time on Sunday we had all learnt that although this can be hard work at times, it is something that will give us the confidence to know that if the situation should ever arise we as divers will not only be prepared but also capable of handling the issue. As always we had a few questions asked as we carried each other up the beach in our efforts to ‘rescue’ each other, Rescue courses alway attract a bit attention from the bystanders and ours was no different. In true Aquability style we finished Sunday off with a great (and much anticipated) meal up at the Rocks, with the usual banter about each others rescue style – but at the end of the day we all agreed the last 2 days has made us better divers/buddies.
