Divers: Ava, Kirsty, Piper & Tim

Light winds and flat seas greeted us at Portsea as we prepared for our two boat dives at Pope’s Eye and The Grotto.  At Pope’s Eye we had good viz and the usual abundance of fish life as we finned back and forth across the bottom of the rock pile with a large cuttlefish the highlight. We ascended up the rock pile and enjoyed watching the marine life swimming below on our safety stop. At The Grotto we explored a pretty patch of reef with abundant kelp and sections of undercuts and overhangs. An enormous smooth ray was spotted resting on the bottom amongst the kelp. On our safety stop we slowly drifted over the reef as the tidal current began to flow. On the surface there were high fives all round to celebrate the successful completion of their Open Water Course. Well done to Ava, Kirsty and Piper!
