Canberra & J4 Sub – 20th October 2024

Divers: Maggie, Andrew, Angus, Will, Liam, David, Mark N, Tim & Mark

With all the rain that we had during the week, the conditions were going to be a bit of an unknown, however the closer we got to today the more it looked like being a good weekend for diving. Conditions at Portsea Pier were as good as they ever get, waiting for the boat to arrive, there was real excitement about, we knew we were getting out for our dives that had been put off several times prior. After traversing the Heads, our first dive was the Canberra, the viz here is rarely very good, although today it was OK even after the rain. Mark N father (RAAF) had spent some time on the Canberra when she was in service, so this was an exciting time for both Mark & his son Liam. The J4 is always a favourite dive & both Tim & I got a  buzz out of introducing our newest Advanced Open Water divers to it.

As always the days diving was made complete with lunch on the lawn at Portsea 🙂
