Divers: Ava, Kirsty, Piper & Tim

After its recent re-opening it was great to be back diving at Rye pier. We had flat surface conditions and reasonably good viz underwater. After successfully completing their skills our Open Water students were able to enjoy exploring the marine environment under the pier which had its usual variety of fish life. A large smooth ray cruising past and a banjo ray resting on the bottom were the highlights from our two dives. The usual exit point via the platform and steps was blocked by a large seal resting at the end of the lower landing; however, we were able to improvise using the ladder at the other end of the landing to end a great day of diving.
