Every winter Aquability run an over sears trip to some where warm, to get out of the Melbourne cold. This year we chose the Philippines, Sangat Island. Coron Bay was the tail end of Operation Hailstone, where the yanks bombed dozens of supply ships at Truk Lagoon during WW2. They then went to the Philippines to sink the remaining ships at the RJN based there. The wrecks are shallow & with a water temperature of 33 degrees celsius, this makes the diving very easy. The crew at Sangat Island are fantastic, from the staff in the kitchen to the dive guides, nothing is ever a problem and everything is always done with a huge smile. It didn’t take our crew long to fit in to the Island way of life, living in huts right on the beach with the sound of the tide coming in gently lapping on the sand out side our doors.
