Wareatea – Sunday 7th March 2021

Divers: Di, John, Chris, Tim, Ben, Youri, Josh & Mark

Although the swell had been up all week, it started dropping off on Friday & continued to drop off all weekend. By Sunday morning all that was left was a gentle 1m rolling swell. The viz was about 15m and the water temperature was19 degrees :).
The Wereatea was a passenger / cargo ship operating between Melbourne & Tasmania from 1004 to 1945. She one of the more in tact ships in the graveyard with plenty of bits to interest the avid wreck diver. With the prop, rudder, engine & boilers all making for some great photography.
