The Zoo & The Pill Box – Saturday 29th January 2022

Divers: Michael, Myles & Mark

We did have some reservations about how good the viz was going to be today after all the rain we have had over the past two days. Our first dive was The Zoo and conditions could not have been better, very flat seas, 19 degree water & 15 metre plus viz. We had some skills to complete before we could enjoy the dive site, but once we had completed the skills we were able to spend some time enjoying the terrain. Having covered off most of our skills on the first dive we were able to spend a bit more time checking out the site. This was some territory the we had not dived before, but we’ll certainly will be back to spend some more time here. The best part of doing shallower dives is the amount of bottom time you get, which still wasn’t enough time for us to cover the entire area, but thats OK we’ll be back!!
How crazy is Portsea in summer? Arriving early means we always get good carpark, however, we could have sold our parking spots ten times over as we left.
